STK House
I love a free party. Last night I managed to get invited to an anniversary party in Meat Packing District of a steak house called STK House. We didn’t actually spend much time in the restaurant, but the lounge space upstairs was dark and seductively beautiful. Lots of small couches and corners to have conversation with friends. The place is marketing itself as the female-friendly steak house and the ratio it attracted for the party seemed to match, which was a lot better than the usual steak house crowd of male bankers, lawyers, traders, etc. And it didn’t hurt their were pouring me as much Ciroc or Don Julio I could drink. Needless to say, I had a good time.
We had a couple different hors d’oeuvres that were pretty interesting. The truffled french fries with parmesan shavings were good and had the right amount of truffle oil so it wasn’t too overwhelming. They also had some beef skewers, but they weren’t too memorable. The buffalo chicken skewers were pretty good. And the peanut-butter truffles were a nice way to wrap up yet another free happy hour party. I love NYC…
