Shanghai 1930

This review is going to be fairly brief because I was in a fairly altered state by the time I got here. I went to a free happy hour as a part of a customer appreciation event that had a lot of drinks and not much food to go with it. Consequently, by the time we walked out of there we were all in need of food.

We ended up deciding on Shanghai 1930 because it was in the neighborhood and came as a recommendation from someone else (who did not join us) for good xiao long bao.

The xiao long bao was pretty good. On a scale of 1 to 10 I’d rank it 6.5 or 7. The other dish we got was sea bass in a spicy pepper sauce and was pretty miserable. And this was the opinion of two hungry drunk guys… All in all, I don’t think I would come back unless I was really craving xiao long bao and couldn’t make it out to the Richmond District or Chinatown. They might have some other dishes worth having, but overall the restaurant fell into the touristy category that I typically try to avoid.
