Tlaloc

My friend took me here for Yucatan style food. I can’t really say whether or not it was really Yucatan style or not, but considering the menu was dominated by burritos, tacos, and quesadillas, I think I can say with reasonable certainty that the California influence had taken over at this point and this was more of a variation of Rubio’s, Baja Fresh, La Salsa, etc.

That being said, my friend did recommend their seafood and they did manage to deliver that. I couldn’t decide between shrimp or fish, so I decided on getting a combo of both of them wrapped up in a lovely burrito. It definitely ranked up there as one of the best seafood burritos I have had. My other favorite is Bahia Don Bravo in Pacific Beach, San Diego. Their seafood Mexican food is fantastic. Still, even though this wasn’t as exotic as I was hoping for, they definitely delivered on flavor and freshness.

On top of that, their house made salsa’s did seem to stand out as a bit better to me than the usual offerings at the standard salsa bar.
